Wind Storm Report - November 15, 2005
Honorable Mayor, Madam City Administrator, and Members of the City Council:
I apologize for the delay in sending our first storm report for this season as it coincided with Public Works Agency’s (PWA) participation in the Golden Guardian Exercise.
Even as City staff was participating in simulated emergencies, PWA’s Trees Section staff responded to 21 emergency tree calls during the regular work day because of sustained high winds with gusts to 69 miles per hour. The log of tree emergencies responded to and abated is attached.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the East Bay. Tuesday sustained wind speeds were measured at 35 mph with gusts to 69 mph.
A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 35 to 39 mph or gusts from 45 to 57 mph.
Amount of Rainfall:
Zero Inches.
Location of Problem Areas:
Ascot and Mountain. Fallen tree blocked roadway, downed power line, and caused a small brush fire. Incident report is attached.

I summary, the supervisors and crews remain extremely responsive. Weather concerns for the rest of the week are minimal. I will keep you posted should new developments materialize.
