Creeks - Arroyo Viejo Watershed Awareness Program
Revitalizing a neighborhood by enhancing its natural habitat
The City of Oakland in collaboration with the Oakland Zoo is excited to kick-off the new Arroyo Viejo Creek Watershed Awareness Program, funded by the California State Regional Water Quality Control Board. The purpose of this comprehensive outreach program is to provide opportunities for community members to get involved in protecting and enhancing their neighborhood creek. Locally-led watershed improvement efforts are one of the most effective ways of protecting our local water ways. By involving a diversity of citizens, public and private organizations, and resource specialists, the program will provide an exchange of knowledge, resources, and support that will enable participants to more effectively understand and address water quality problems in their neighborhood.
